  • Large Animal or Mixed Vet at Honddu Vets, Brecon, Powys

We are looking for a large animal vet, or a mixed vet with a large animal bias to join our 11 vet team here in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Honddu Vets is a mixed practice, located in Brecon itself, so a beautiful part of the world to live and work in. We are a mixed practice covering our own out of hours with a dedicated TB tester, and a mixed age group of friendly, tea and cake loving vets - some of which do mixed work, some with a bias towards small or large animal work only.
The farm work is predominately beef and sheep with a few dairy farmers too - so lots of work to get stuck in to! Our clients are friendly and welcoming and we try to engage frequently with them, holding farmers meetings, pub quizzes and taking part in local agricultural shows too.
We offer a 4-day working week, including OOH, which leaves time to explore the National Park, however, we are flexible to part-time applicants too. This Spring we are set to move to a purpose-built, brand-new practice, with lots of space and all of the modern equipment you’d expect including two dedicated large animal treatment rooms, so it really is an exciting time to join the team.
RCVS/VDS subscriptions paid for, 5.5 weeks holiday allowance, and certificates are encouraged. Accommodation and a van can be provided if required.
If you think this job could suit you, then please send your CV to office@hondduvets.co.uk or if you have any questions feel free to send an email.
